It’s a simple and cozy and kinda old Chinese restaurant near Kankurgachi.
Prices are a bit high. Staffs are decent.
The taste of the food is well enough. For a bit of change, you can try their, Cantonese noodles. This one is mandatory for my every visit.

Hongkong is a very old Chinese resto in Kankurgachi. Taste is the best in the world, yes I am sincerely writing this, the best Chinese you can ever have.
Special Noodles or any gravy noodles is must must have, Fried rice is excellent, Dry chilly chicken or pork is super. Gravy items also very tasty.
Only problem is this restaurant has a very old Manager who feels Zomato Swiggy or any online purchase is bad. Only people should come and eat or takeaway. Doesnt have the knowledge how many people wont be able to come and eat here due to distance or work, even if they are interested and now a days 100 other restaurant options are open online which u can order from home in few seconds.
When this restaurant was built there was no other options, but now they are many but only the old manager doesnt understand the difference and he is living in old 90s and losing customer everyday.
Owner is very nice and real Chinese but she wont be able to come and given all responsibility to this manager who is ruining the restaurant’s better business every day.
If you find time to go there and eat or takeaway no taste is better than it. but can you make it even if u like from Thakurpukur to Kankurgachi? Grow up old man.
The food was at the best very average. The ambience is not that great and the pricing is definitely overpriced. The cutlery looks very cheap and the lighting is worse than a shady bar. I dont think I am coming back here even for the sake of nostalgia

Probably the oldest restaurant in kakurgachi area for authentic chinese cuisine. The ambience is not so much to fall for but that’s what makes this place to remember, the food. They have varied and interesting chinese and Tibetan foods. One of them which I tried today was pork cutlets which is served with potato wedges and lemon. Cost is ₹185. It was enough of quantity for two. The cutlet was tasty and filling was pretty amazing.
The only glitch is that all the foods are a bit high priced than usual.

Amazing Chinese food ,with no coating whatsoever and authenticity to it’s peak…Chilli Chicken with bones ,Chicken Soup ,Special Gravy Noodles & Chilli Fish is just lip smacking !
The hotel is camouflaged..I was walking past it but couldn’t find it… so have to look closely to find this restaurant…food was really good and really really overpriced…had just egg fried rice which is 250rs..omg.!. …almost every dishes cost more than 200….had an attached toilet for customers… hotel workers are good…

The restaurant is old and shabby, the utensil below par, but the food is really good. The dry boneless chili chicken is a must try. But what’s a shock is the food price. It’s very expensive.

I Never Had To Pay To Eat There. The Restaurant Owner’s Daughter Was My Class Mate, So She Treated Me & I Never Had To Pay For The Food. I Had Chilli Chicken Gravy With Chicken Fried Rice,Garlic Chicken Gravy With Chicken Fried, Chicken Chow Gravy. All Very Delicious & Mouth Watering. I Miss Her A Lot!!!.
This place will flood you with nostalgia of Old Calcutta Chinese restaurants with their quaint minimalistic decor and the smell of sesame oil which gives their dishes the signature flavour. Had dry chilly chicken, and let me be very clear that dry or however chilly chicken is not only about a lot of chillies, that should be bell pepper, onions etc. The chicken pieces are not that of quality or quantity. I had very high hopes for this place and those were just smashed in one order.
One of the best chilli pork in the city, the pork fried rice is great too.
I haven’t find any other Chinese restaurant serving chilli chicken serving this quality.

The taste of nostalgia is indeed sweet! My family and I have been big fans of this restaurant. One of the highlights of my childhood was the occasional trip to Hong Kong and being allowed to order American Chopsuey. I am pretty confident that I was introduced to the dish here. Since then, I’ve been to America and tried to look for Chopsuey. And been on a taste test of American Chopsueys all over India. None could be at par with my love in this restaurant. Now after 10 years, I went back to Hong Kong and I’m happy to report that their taste is too good to be true. Also their highlight is chilli pork! The right proportion of salty, umami, sour and hot! Plus the cuts chosen were just perfect!!! Please do help keep this jewel of Kankurgachi alive!!! With its huge portions as compared to the price, it deserves to thrive!
This place is one of the best for Chinese foods in kolkata. They serve authentic Chinese cuisine.
The ambience may not be so trendy and attractive, but who cares! We were very skeptical about ordering because of the poor interiors and contradicting high pricetags of the foods. But once the food came we were delighted. Every item was fantastic. Sufficient quantity for two in each serving. Taste was fantastic. So, quality and quantity both do justice to the slightly high pricetags. Fish Manchurian, Chilly Prawn, Mixed Noodles w Pork, Sweetcorn Soup all were great. Recommended place.
It is cool place to dine. It has variety of Chinese foods which are delicious in tastes. Particularly chicken gravy chowmein and mixed fried are unique in tastes. It’s location is great and convenient for all. If they could tie up with food apps, it would have great. Some time it is convenient to order the food through app.

I have been visit Hong Kong Restaurant Kankurgachi for over 10 years. Its very nice, bit pricey but good quality food. I Neverending dined but always took parcel. Its parcel packing is good as well.
Was One of the best places to have Chinese. Prices are a bit high- but somewhat worth the authentic Chinese experience- quantity of food after covid is very low, two plates of fried rice of INR 500+ won’t feed 2 people huger (I eat less trust me) and that too no in dining now.
It is located near Kankurgachi, Kolkata. In my personal opinion, it is one of the best Chinese restaurant in north Kolkata. Foods are very very delicious. If you visit this restaurant, then do not forget to try their dry chili chicken. It is amazing. Best chili chicken I ever had in my life so far.
